No travel, hotel, rental cars, or continental breakfasts – we present our list of Q2, 2021 (mostly virtual) events that founders of tech startups may want to check out.

Almost all of these events are being held online, Hardware Con and MWC Barcelona being the main exceptions. If you find a conference of interest to you, make sure to check out their registration page for details and different access passes. We’ve noted timeframes for those with early-bird specials. Areas of interest are covered in boldface for quick reference.

Nexus: Israel Dealmakers - Virtual Summit, March 23-24

Nexus: Israel Dealmakers. As defined on their site, this event explores, “Human Health Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Digital Marketing, eCommerce, Enterprise Infrastructure, Industrial Tech, Cyber Security, Data Science, and more.” As its name suggests, it promises to bring together thought leaders from international corporations, investment firms, and ambitious entrepreneurs to unlock “deal-flow.” Register now as participation is by invitation only.

European Blockchain Convention 2021 - Virtual, April 12 - 16

European Blockchain Convention 2021. Lasting a week, the EBC is regarded as Europe’s largest blockchain event. It’s a place to meet with 2,000+ professionals involved across the full spectrum of Blockchain interests from regulators to investors, developers, investors, and enterprises. Tickets start at 109€ + VAT.

AI Applications Virtual Summit - London, April 14-15

AI Applications Virtual Summit. Presented by ReWork, all of their events have been switched to a virtual format through at least September 2021. The summit includes four tracks focusing on AI in Finance & Reg; Insurance; Retail and Marketing, plus Women in FinTech. By ordering before March 19, you can save $100 with their early bird passes for $149. ReWork conducts many other events, so you might check out their Event Calendar and sign up for a free 7-day trial for their AI Library which they claim to be, “the world’s largest AI video library.”

World Summit AI Americas - Montreal, April 19-21

World Summit AI Americas. This year, the event is a 2-hour and 2-day online global meetup conducted in Montreal, Canada, offering access to AI leaders from around the world offering their forecasts for 2021. You can also expect, “heated discussions on AI and ethics and AI4good, applied solutions for enterprise and hands-on workshops.” You’ll be asked to attend at least 10 meetings so they can use their AI to construct a customized agenda of 1-to-1 meetings for you. You’ll be able to interact with other attendees, request meetings, participate in workshops and roundtable discussions. Tickets for startups start at CAD $99 plus local taxes.

HardwareCon - MountainView, California, April 22

HardwareCon.  Presented by Hardware Massive, this event showcases “the latest technology and business trends in AI, Machine Learning, Robotics, IoT, Blockchain, Product Design and more.” This event is a great venue for early-stage startups offering resources and actionable information on product development, funding, production, launching, and scaling. It focuses on tech hardware, but hardware needs software, and knowing what’s coming can help you position accordingly.
Early Bird Startup Passes are on sales through March 28 for around just under $120.

RSA Conference USA - Virtual, May 17-20

RSA Conference USA. Order before March 1 and Save $100 or more off their standard rates which start at $395. Protect your career and your organization while learning the most important cybersecurity trends of 2021. Topics covered include professional and workforce development, protecting data, crypto, risk management and governance, security strategy and architecture, technology operations and infrastructure, and more.

Running Remote - Virtual, May 21

Running Remote. Register before 28 February for FREE Full-Access tickets. In their own words, “Running Remote events are carefully curated to teach you next-level, actionable strategies and tactics you can utilize the very next day to manage & grow your remote team.”

Agile Israel - Virtual, May 25

Agile Israel. Hosted by AgileSparks, this conference is in its14th year, this year’s theme is, “Resilience – to emphasize how Agile and DevOps enables organizations to respond fast to the waves of change.” It’s probably best for developers and software engineering managers, but its also a good chance to connect with local IT experts for our readers in Israel.

Datacloud Global Congress 2021 - Virtual, June 1-3

Datacloud Global Congress. The DGC is presented as, “the premier leadership gathering for senior executives across the data centre, cloud, edge, digital infrastructure and AI industries.” Schedule and themes have yet to be announced, but its platform will open May 18. Perhaps a bit highbrow for startups, it should still be a good event to make connections in the Cloud and Datacenter space.

Mobile World Congress - Barcelona, Spain, June 28 - July 1

Mobile World Congress. The most influential event of the entire mobile ecosystem, in 2019 it drew over 109,000 attendees, 8,000 CEOs, and 2,400 exhibitors. It was canceled in 2020 due to well… you know. This year, they’re planning for 40-50k attendees with appropriate social distancing. It’s probably the hottest event for startup founders to network with global tech influencers and to connect with investors, mobile giants, and mobile industry service providers. Details are pending for their virtual events and activities.
